When the Hunter Becomes the Hunted

Chris writes:

The origin for this diorama was inspired by the Dragon figure set German Panzerjager 6058, which features a German soldier attaching an anti-tank magnetic mine to a tank. Ever since buying that set when it first came out I always imagined creating a suitable diorama to depict that figure in action. Having finished a Russian SU-85M tank destroyer and wanting to explore creating a ruined factory using the "cork technique" I knew I had the right combination of elements to create an urban ambush setting that would portray how German infantry might attack enemy armor with anti-tank mines.

The kits used include the premium edition SU-85M from Dragon, Friulmodel tracks, PE fenders, fuel tanks and accessories from various manufacturers along with some scratch built elements. The three figures are from Dragon along with Hornet heads and PE accessories. The ruined buildings were built from scratch using cork and foam-core for the walls, and styrene for the window frames. Additional interior details are from Italeri workshop set, styrene rod and tarps made from rolled Milliput putty. The road was from Miniart and the sidewalks were scratch built like the buildings from cork.

"Knock knock!" Indeed. Nicely done though unless the rest of the tank's accompanying infantry are driven off or dead his chances still aren't that good. Attach - run- drop is how it goes and it really doesn't matter much where you attach the mine. I like the dio nonetheless and think that you did a great job on it.

Really nice job! Covers all the elements a good diorama should have imho.
