This looks awesome. The whole thing is very well done indeed. I love the wreck and would love to know what technique was used for the rust. The figure, horse and groundwork are also excellent. All the best Vic

thanks for the comments! there's 4 kind of rust here -the big completely rusty armour plates were done by mixing some burnt sienna paint pigments with very few thinner and apply them with an old brush, then once the paint is set i added a black acrylic wash at some particular places -you have to take care during the process as of course the pigments "drink" the paint. -then there are the paint/ rust . As you know the rust can grow beneath the paint, so for this i used some mix between the white boat's colour and pigments -then there are the run-off kind of rust whuich were applied at the right places with a small brush -finally there's my prefered one which is the small rusty blotches: i coated the good parts with some water and white paint and i then i dumped some burnt sienna and black pigments from the tip of a blade hope i stayed understandable with the whole thing! I remembered this old quote "in the marine you salute everything that moves and you paint the rest", i then used a lot a layering for the paint and some areas are more painted than others on a ship hull or so i suppose and this si why i painted it that way. I used a lot of pictures reference of rusty boats to paint it of course. hope it helps! jb
