Schiffer Publishing has just recently published a new book on the paint and markings of American armor from World War I to the eve of World War II - Organization and Markings of American Armor, 1918-1941
As author of this new book, I would like to state that "Organiziation and Markings of American Armor, 1918-1941" covers a much neglected period in US Armor history. The book covers, not only the Regular Army, but also the National Guard and US Marine Corps - decade by decade. With over 250 photographs it covers the entire period between the two wars - with added descriptions of the paints and marking systems.used by each unit. Although few color shots are available, use is made of color illustrations. As an added feature, the back of the book briefly covers the lineage of the American armored units between the war, as well as containing a list of TO & E and a list of FS numbers for the various camouflage and marking paints. I hope that this book will be useful to those of you who have always wanted to do those nice M2 Series Light Tanks - but were afraid of having a dull looking model. If you pick the book up from the Patton Museum, you can ask for an autographed copy....

"Organiziation and Markings of American Armor, 1918-1941" by Charles Lemons is published by Schiffer Publishing at $59.95 and can be purchased on line from Schiffer's Website
