A new Orange announcement from CyberHobby, some Vietnam armor. But with a little twist this time, with an old faithful Soviet made tank.
CyberHobby has been putting great pairings together in the past with their Orange boxes. Well they have done it again, and even I am tempted. There is something about this combination of a T34-85M and NVA Sapper team. It would make for an interesting diorama.

9139 - 1/35 T-34/85M + NVA Sapper Team (Orange)

According to Dragon USA, the estimated arrival date is August 2012.

They are starfish ones aren't they? So why the colured profile depicts an exemplar with spider web wheels?

The color profile in the news post? They seem like starfish wheels to me - just a bit hard to make out in the profile. /E

Yes they are! Couldn't see them enough well this afternoon, drawing looked too dark (I've been getting older badly!) Cheers

Please stop talking about ageing... just weeks away from 30... /E

Old or not I'll take one, the prices on these orange box kits seem reasonable here in the US. Ryan

You guys are lucky in the States then. In the UK this seems to be retailing at about £33-£38 which frankly is laughable in my opinion.

I agree those kits are overpriced in Europe, in France and Germany they are generally between 32 and 40 €, more expensive than the latest Trumpeter and HobbyBoss kits which are generations ahead. Adding a few old figures, new decals and magic tracks to a kit from the nineties doesn't cut it in this price range. As I said in another thread the exception for me is the M4A3 HVSS POA-CWS-H5 Flamethrower which has a majority of new tool parts including PE and is very nice, with about 10% in common with the old Dragon kit. Cheers, Christophe

So would this new Orange Box offering be good to use for 34/85's in the Yugoslav Wars? I'm not very familiar with post-war 34's. Erik
AUG 02, 2012 - 03:50 AM
Yes it would. The old Dragon kit had at least one marking option for this conflict, as well as a 0.50 MG (additional sprue from their Pershing kit if I'm not mistaken). Don't know about the new decals ot the orange rebox. Cheers, Christophe
