Accurate Armour has now made available their offering of the Leyland L60 Engine and David Brown TN12 Gearbox combination in 1/35th scale. This release has excellent timing with Takom Chieftains due in the next couple of weeks and will offer modellers options for display.
This 1/35th resin and etched brass kit depicts the Leyland L60 Engine and David Brown TN12 Gearbox combination fitted to the UK Chieftain Main Battle Tank (MBT) and specialist engineering variants.

Designed by George Moore and Rob Tearle these extensive resin models with etched brass details depict the main engine/power-pack and gearbox/transmission components as they would look when removed from the tank engine bay and either displayed on the ground or pallet or hanging from a crane (such as fitted to the FV434 Fitters vehicle or Chieftain ARRV or Challenger ARRV).

I have to admit, I started this project a long time ago (years). I submitted the parts to AA about 80% complete, Rob Tearle has done a truly magnificent job in finishing the project, I had reached the point where I was at a loss to know how to complete it. Congratulations to AA for bringing this out, I must take the opportunity to thank all those kind people that helped me with info, drawings and photo's.....too long a list to mention you all, but you know who you are.
