Finally! Made my own 5+ years ago, hope I don’t have to wait another 5+ for Soviet locos/rolling stock to put on it.

It is the Russian gauge5 ft/1,524 mm, right? If so, it can not be used for the German based models, can it? P.

They look good I think the standard gauge track that the Germans use is 4 ft 8½ in or 1,435 mm
JAN 02, 2017 - 11:19 PM
Yes,the German standard gauge was wider than the Russian. They had to rebuild tracks going into Russia or switch rolling stock at the border. J

Thanks to you all. But it can NOT be used for the Trumpeter Reichsbahn rolling stock? So, it is restricted to dio's and the very rare resin wagons, as I see it.

The difference between the Russian and European gauges is still too big even in 1/72, not to speak about 1/35. But the answer is: yes, Miniart track can be used with Deutsche Reichsbahn rolling stock. This one, though: LINK Jerry, are you sure that 1435 mm is more than 1524 mm?

Hi Ilian, Thanks! So there are two (Miniart) types now, Europan and Russian. P.
JAN 03, 2017 - 12:48 AM
Hi Jerry, Other way around. Russian track is 5-foot and the Germans used 4-ft 8 1/2-in.

That's what I thought too, though knowing what a mess the whole region was I wouldn't be surprised if they had a couple of proprietary gauges as well. Still, it might prove useful, especially if someone (MiniArt?) goes on to offer such delectable as a Soviet armoured train...
