Ace Model has released its kit on this 8-wheeled Italian tank destroyer.
The Centauro B1 tank destroyer was developed by Fiat and OTO Melara in response to the Italian Army requirement for a mobile tank destroyer. This vehicle has the firepower comparable to the Leopard 1 main battle tank, which was then in service with Italy. This vehicle was designed to carry out tactical reconnaissance, fire support and territorial defense tasks. During numerous peacekeeping missions Centauro tank destroyers have been used to escort convoys and for road patrol missions.

Ace Model's B1 Centauro AFV (Early Series) (72437) contains injection-molded and photo-etched parts, as well as rubber tires to build one vehicle. The kit also includes decals to finish the model as a UN vehicle as one option.

Background information on the vehicle sourced from Military-Today.com.

If it should be an early version there's something wrong on the rear upper hull. You should sand down those hatch and other protuberance wich are present only on long version Centauro. Very early version also has different exhaust cover and no protection on front of the driver hatch. Regards Moreno
