M2 Bradley Accessory Set (for Revell M2A2)

by: Sabot [ SABOT ]

I was extremely impressed with this company’s offering. The set consisted of eleven light cream colored pieces molded on three pour stubs. It also included a photo etched fret with eight pieces.

Two of the photo etched parts (E1 & E2) replace the kit turret bustle rack. The bottom piece (E2) has petite mesh holes in the bottom. There are two resin stowage pieces that are molded to fit inside the bustle rack. Two other photo etched parts (E3 & E4) add an antenna guard to the turret.

Hull stowage consists of five resin stowage pieces that attach to the hull sides. There are sleeping bags, rucksacks and duffle bags molded together. Like the turret stowage pieces, the hull pieces are designed to fit into specific places on the hull side. With some modification, they may be able to be placed in different spots.

The three photo etched pieces add the driver’s periscope guards to the upper hull. The final photo etched piece builds into the side stowage bin found on OIF M2A2ODS vehicles. Unfortunately, there are no extra storage items for the bin.

The final four resin pieces are the Combat Identification Panels (CIPs). The CIPs were fielded by the Army in the mid 90s to prevent fratricide between friendly forces. These look like louvered panels that show up in thermal sights as a cold spot on a hot vehicle. Two large CIPs are included for each side of the hull and two smaller ones attach to the rear stowage boxes on the back of the hull.

The set included a small paper insert with photos of where the photo etched pieces went by part number. The resin pieces are also depicted in place, but not identified by part number. The box top includes a photo of the completed model with all parts painted and in place.

This set is highly recommended for updating the Revell M2A2 kit into one that more closely resembles an OIF Bradley. The set can be used on the Revell kit whether it is built into the M2A2 or M3A2 configuration. I am unsure if the set can be used on the Dragon Bradley.

SUMMARY
This was the first Legend Productions product I purchased. I picked one up when they hit the shelves during the early stages of Operation Iraqi Freedom. It added OIF fittings to the Revell Bradley to give modelers the opportunity to update the kit to the actual vehicle’s current combat configuration.
