introduction

In the last months of 2014, BRAVO-6 released B6-35108 U.S.Tank Commander(1) 1944-1945 depicting US Army Staff Sergeant Don "Wardaddy" Collier of the movie- FURY acted by Brad Pitt on a sitting pose on his Sherman. Now Vladimir sculpted the same character on a standing pose carrying a Stg44.

box

Figure comes in brown cardboard box labeled with a photo of the assembled and painted figure. Body and other parts are inserted seperately into two small plastic zip-lock bags.
figure

Sculpted in 1/35 scale and cast in grey resin, figure comes in 5 pieces. There was no casting mistakes, air bubbles or any problems on the review sample. You will not need a serious cleanwork on the figure as I didn’t notice any visible seamlines on the figure. Sculpting in crisp details and casting is really very good.

Parts ;
  • Body : He wears 1st Pattern Tanker Jacket aka Patton’s jacket over his wool shirt. It is a windbreaker design, waist cut medium weight jacket with two external patch pockets with horizontal openings and zipper front. The material is heavy khaki or OD color. If khaki as in this figure, the lining is mustard brown while the OD jackets have a lining of the same color. Cloth folds and details of the uniform like pockets, wool collar, wool waistband and zipper are very well defined. He carries a Smith&Wesson M1917 in a leather armpit holster on the left side. If you want to paint the pistol as in the movie, you will need some advanced skills to paint a Sweetheart stock. He has M1938 Combat field trousers with two side seam pockets and two rear hip pockets. Trotters are inserted inside high boots. As for the footgear, he has Cavalry Boots, also used by Harley Davidson MP riders and high-ranked officers like Patton. This legging top laced boots were made of elk leather and was tightened with 3 straps and buckles. A German Close Combat Trench Fighting Knife Nahkampfmesser is inserted to the right boot.
  • Head : It seems Vladi used the same head of the 35108 kit instead of sculpting a new head. As I noted on the other review, figure absolutely looks like the movie character. Vladi sculpted it in great alikeness. Regulation haircut and forehead lines are well defined. If desired, a few scars on cheeks can be added referring to Wardaddy photo.
  • Arms : Right arm is posed to hold next to his chest holding a cigarette on his hand. Left arm is posed to carry the rifle. Cloth folds, wool knit cuffs and M1938 Airborne Gloves are well sculpted. Places to paint rank patch on the right, insignia and rank patches on the left - Staff sergeant rank & 2nd Armored Division are marked on the figure.
  • Rifle : He carries a German Sturmgewehr 44 which is considered to be the first modern assault rifle. For a quick glance to the specifications of Stg44, you may see this link.
    conclusion

    Wardaddy in sitting and standing poses give us options to create different Fury movie scenes. Figure is very nice sculpted and cast with a great alikeness to movie character. It has a seperate head which allows to make him any WWII U.S. Tank Commander with a head replacement.

    Very Highly Recommended
