Introduction
Mathos Models is making a name for themselves with a growing line of diorama scenery items in a variety of materials. This model is Broken Wall, item 35022, a 1/35 ceramic length of stone wall.

In the box
Broken Wall is a pair of ceramic (Hydrocal?) deteriorating stone wall sections. The large piece is 7 x 3 cm (2 3/4" x 1 1/8") while the small piece is 2.5 x 1.5 cm (1" x 5/8"). They are big enough for one or two 1/35 figures to shelter behind. For modelers of other scales I show it with 1/48 subjects.

These pieces are sharply cast in ceramic with excellent stone detail. A footer is cast under each to keep the pieces level. Those footers are low and easy to hide with ground cover.

Detail
Modelers can paint them as desired to simulate stone anywhere in the world. As such, these wall pieces can be used in any era and any area, for any subject.

I painted the pieces without priming; ceramic looks more like the minute granules of rock if the natural material is allowed to show through the paint.

Conclusion
Mathos Models has created a excellent diorama detail with Broken Wall. It has beautiful stone detail and paints up well.

I enthusiastically recommend this model.

Please remember to tell vendors and retailers that you saw this model here - on ARMORAMA.

I'm a professional pilot with a degree in art. My first model was an AMT semi dump truck. Then Monogram's Lunar Lander right after the lunar landing. Next, Revell's 1/32 Bf-109G...cried havoc and released the dogs of modeling! My interests--if built before 1900, or after 1955, then I proba...
