J's Work is a manufacturer of diorama accessories from China, available exclusively through Lucky Model. Their products are intended to be simple to use and are relatively inexpensive.

The Paper Plant series of accessories features a sheet of paper printed in multi color, with the plant subject being laser cut into the paper. It gives the finished product a varied colored surface.

This release, Typical Leaf 2, Autumn, features a series of leaf types cut out in rows, with the color changing hue from red to orange, yellow, green and brown, giving a variety of shades for each leaf type. The leaves appear to be of typical hardwood types, such as Maple, Oak, Ash, Chestnut (I think) and one type I don't recognize. They can be scattered on the groundwork or attached to a tree. Once cut from the sheet they are ready to use.

The only downside I could see with the product is a slight black outline on some of the leaves as a result of the laser cutting. They do have a shiny appearance that could be toned down with any flat or matte coat product.

If you are looking for a splash of color or a little variety for a diorama, this is a simple and effective solution that I think will be most useful.
Highs: Simple, ready to use and inexpensive diorama accessory.
Lows: Some leaves had a black outline appearance from the laser cutting process.
Verdict: I think this is a nice looking, easy diorama addition, and a well thought out product.

About Russ Amott (russamotto)

I got back into the hobby a few years back, and wanted to find ways to improve, which is how I found this site. Since joining Armorama I have improved tremendously by learning from others here, and have actually finished a couple of kits. I model to relax and have fun, but always look to improve. ...

oh I looove THIS!!! I like to set as many models as I can on some sort of base with a figure ('polished wood shelf' doesn't quite sit right...) so I'm always on the hunt for this kind of stuff, especially mountain biking. I have pile of dried roots and sticks that took my fancy... but these leaves look much better than hat I see on the trails, oh yeaaahhh!!! And the colours can obviously be tweaked a la airbrush. Good ones!
